UFI Voc Tech Event Showreel
We filmed UFI VocTech Trust's networking event in London, meeting the trailblazers shaping how our futures will work in cohesion with technology!
These industry experts are creating new job opportunities for people through technology and this event brought people with a common goal together.
UFI provided such an exciting environment for their event, with education, robotics, learning, and tech as the leading subjects of conversation.
It's clear that UFI not only provides business-changing funding but also offers a supportive environment in which individuals can discuss and brainstorm their ideas.
The event was livestreamed to YouTube, with a panel discussion in the auditorium before doors opened on the Showcase itself. We also filmed interviews with three of the funded projects on show, cut afterwards into short case study films.
This film is part of our corporate film work. See all the films we make.

This is all about tech doing really, really good things. We hear about how tech is going to destroy people's jobs. This is about making sure that technology is giving people jobs. Well, UFI brings together people who are passionate about technology, people who are passionate about education, people who are passionate about adult learning, and we really create a unique space where they can take risks and test out new ideas so that new products and services can be taken to the market so that people can develop their skills and flourish in their lives.
The amazing thing about UFI Trust is it's not just about the funding. The funding obviously can help a small company take a product from an idea to something that's out on the market. It's the support that they give you. We've had an amazing project manager, Daniel Whiston.
He's been our biggest advocate and supporter, but also challenged us throughout the project to make the product and the content as entertaining as it could possibly be. Our main focus is adult vocational skills and the technology that there is to support them. We're interested in the development of innovative and interesting technology that can improve the delivery of skills and the learner outcomes for the learner, for the teacher, for trainers, for employers, and for society as a whole. One of the reasons why technology can bring such enormous advantages to learning is that it's so accessible.
So they don't have to go to a classroom, and an awful lot of people in this country don't much necessarily want to go to a classroom. They may not have had a great experience of classroom in their younger days, or they may actually be just too busy to get to a classroom, so the learning has to fit around them, their busy work schedules. So having a technological solution which allows you to do the learning at your own pace, at your own time, in your own way, through technology, makes a fantastic difference to people. The UFI is all about finding new ways to use technology to make sure that those people can acquire those skills that they need going forward.
I'm just really passionate about what UFI is doing in terms of making sure that everyone's got opportunities to the skills and the training that they need to succeed in their career. So I'm at the showcase this evening because I'm working with UFI on a podcast series. I run the EdTech podcast, and the new series is all about vocational technology and how that works in terms of adult learning and upskilling. Working with UFI Trust has allowed us to take something which was just an idea all the way through to an investor-ready product with the metrics and evidence to show that the product works.
We really support the organisations we work with to take risks, to try new things, and to be able to do things that they wouldn't be able to do if they didn't have our funding. The beauty of VocTech is it allows people to learn at their own pace, in their own time, in a way that suits them. Together, we can change the world of adult vocational skills.
