Live Tedx Events - Bristol
We had the privilege of being production partners for Tedx Bristol, live-streaming the event for three consecutive years, showcasing its innovative and inspirational ideas to thousands of viewers online across the UK. We also produced promos for the events to help increase engagement during the build-up of the events.
Taking responsibility for pre-planning, a large-scale multi-camera shoot, live edit hub, full post-production, and delivery, Floating Harbour join the amazing TedxBristol team to raise the bar and ensure the success of this fantastic event. A massive thank you is owed to Bath Spa University and its students who volunteer to help us each time to ensure every angle of the event is covered, with 7 streams of video at the 1800-seat theatre, Colston Hall. This is always an amazing experience with an incredible and passionate group of like-minded people and we are delighted to be TedxBristol Partners.
In 2019 we shot a promo for the speaker line-up at Bristol Water, ran a dress rehearsal at Bath Spa University, then filmed and live-streamed the main event at Bristol Old Vic. Afterwards we edited each speaker's talk into its own film, added the sponsor slides and a graphics sting, and sent them out for sign-off before they went up on YouTube.

My name is Joshua Luke Smith, and my talk is about how what we believe about ourselves shapes the world around us. It's not where you come from, it's where you're going that's important. I want to disrupt people's assumptions about sex, gender, and love. I disrupt because I have no choice.
I am unapologetically Black, I'm female, and I come from a working-class background. I've just spent six years being chronically ill. I was sleeping 18 hours a day. Stereotyping people by age doesn't work.
I don't think we're ready to deal with the challenges we're facing this century. Life is totally chaotic and unplannable, so instead of being passive and waiting for disruption to come and hit you, why not be active and disrupt life yourself? I've been held up at gunpoint twice, once in Washington, DC, and once in Darfur, Sudan. Now, most people think of one of those places as being safe and as one of those places as not being safe.
When my son was diagnosed with autism, I was expected to hide him. I want to talk about autism. I don't want to hide him. I disrupt because I think that children who suffer deserve a better quality of life.
We've only got one planet, and at the rate we're going, it's not going to sustain us. With the right mentor, with the right focus, the right vision, anybody could achieve greatness. The world needs positive disruptors because the loudest voices in culture shapes it, and we need voices that call humanity higher, shape the future ahead of us, and at times, challenge the loudest voice. And I really believe that we have to do what is right, not what is easy.
I'm determined to help change the way things are done. We need to change the way that we think and act if we want to make a difference. I want to do something about it. And it doesn't happen without people like me.
