Floating Harbour has made films and animations for the University of Bristol for more than ten years, across student guidance and advice, admissions, research, internal communications, climate communications and live events. The work spans admissions and student recruitment, course and department promotion, student experience, research impact storytelling, internal communications, and live event coverage. We have worked with many higher education institutions and we understand the sector well, and the projects on this page show the breadth of formats we deliver, including social first content, documentary-style storytelling, and graphics-led and animation-led films. That range runs from open-day coverage to the University's climate emergency communications, the first such declaration by a UK university.
A large part of the work has been student guidance and advice: films and animations on accommodation and catered halls, wellbeing and counselling, and settling in to university life, made over many years and most recently as the Bristol Ready series. For Bristol Ready we delivered the film content and an AI-assisted design suite as editable HTML with structured content files, so the University's team updates text, images and data themselves.
