The Hold Studio and Bridge Room
Located right in the belly of our 1905 Dutch Barge is an impressive 90m² Black Box studio with a full lighting rig - a great place to film master interviews, music videos, product and commercial shoots, presentations and photography.
Or film against the backdrop of Bristol's beautiful harbour in our Bridge room. The possibilities are endless.
Black box, green screen & virtual production studio in Bristol
The Hold Studio is a Black Box studio with soundproofing, carpeted floor and a selection of interchangeable floor-to-ceiling drapes. The studio is available for dry hire, or take advantage of having a film equipment hire house on the premises with everything you need to make your shoot a success. Clients who hire the Hold studio benefit from a 40% discount on equipment hire prices for their shoot.
Similarly, take advantage of having our experienced staff on site to help with any technical issues should you have any. The studio is equipped with a lighting rig, surround sound, and heating / air-conditioning so no need to shoot shivering in coats or sweltering in the heat. Green-screen set-up is also available, or for more realistic in-camera backgrounds explore our Virtual Production studio.

The Hold studio
Meeting room, smaller interview studio or green room
Usually set up as a meeting room, our Bridge room has proved equally popular as a location for filming interviews and live broadcasts. With the floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook a quiet section of Bristol's historic floating harbour this background can be useful for locating a presenter or interviewee 'in Bristol' without so many of the sound issues that occur further into the city centre.
For larger shoots in the Hold, hire the Bridge as well to use as a calming and relaxing space to locate your green room or make up / changing room.

Live Event Filming
We have used both spaces for a vast array of LIVE events and virtual events, even hosting a week-long film festival.
Cameras can be sent easily through to our gallery where remote guests can also be brought in to be broadcast live from the boat directly to any streaming platform via our dedicated leased line.

THE BRIDGE
Whilst it wasn't designed as a studio, many clients have chosen to use this space as a location for filming in, where the beauty of the room set against unique harbour views is perfect for a wide range of content such as presenter to camera, interviews and small panels.
