Whitley Awards 2020: LIVE!

The 2020 Whitley Fund for Nature’s annual celebration was not possible in its traditional form but that didn’t mean it couldn’t happen. Instead, it would take place virtually at Floating Harbour.

Filmed in our studio, Kate Humble and Tom Heap were at the helm to bring this year's funded projects together for an online audience of over 2000 people. With contributions from the conservationists, the WFN Chairman, HRH Princess Anne and live broadcasts from locations across the globe this truly was a memorable and ground-breaking live-streamed event that also managed to be part of the effort to raise funds for future projects. The evening was peppered with wonderful films produced by ICON Films and supported by narration by Sir David Attenborough.

  • "You have all been a pleasure to work with; professional, fun and competent which came together to create a slick evening, and myself and Lydia were very well looked after too. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive and there is certainly a lot of food for thought in terms of how we approach future events. So let’s keep in touch.

I’m delighted to tell you that as of today, we have surpassed our Big Give target to raise £100,000 for WFN’s Continuation Funding programme! This is more important to us than ever in what has been a challenging year for everyone, including charity.

Again, thank you to the whole team who went above and beyond and worked so hard to deliver."

Danni Parks, Director, Whitley Fund for Nature.
