The Big Tidy
Bristol Waste & Bristol City Council
The Big Tidy is part of the Bristol City Council and Bristol Waste Company Bristol Clean Streets campaign to make our streets cleaner and greener. The project was launched by Mayor Marvin Rees in 2019 and has already made big improvements to more than 1,800 streets across Bristol.
We had the privilege of shooting this years Big Tidy where a team of street cleansers, graffiti removal experts, enforcement officers and community engagement officers visit each of Bristol’s 34 wards and tackled issues such as litter, overgrown vegetation, graffiti and fly-tipping.
The film brought together two years of work across the city: footage Bristol Waste had shot themselves, our own filming, and before-and-after stills. It was reviewed by Bristol City Council's comms team and the Mayor's office before release in 2023, and in 2025 clips from it were used at Bristol Waste's staff conference.
Thank you for sending over, this is looking absolutely fantastic! The shorter length, new pace and edited animations feel great.
