Directions

Our office and studio is located on board a large steel dutch barge called MB Tempora moored right in the centre of Bristol.

You can access the boat from Welshback, towards the Redcliffe Bridge end. Opposite where Welshback intersects with Mill Avenue there is a gap between 2 buildings where cars are usually parked. Travel through the cars and you will see our gate with the Floating Harbour Films sign.

We have limited short term parking for visitors so please call ahead. Or there is charged street parking in the surrounding area.

We are an easy walk from Temple Meads Station and bike racks are available on the adjacent quayside

  • Discovered the Floating Harbour back in 2015 when I was in a tight jam and needed some additional kit for a last minute job. Since then they have become my go-to supplier for kit hire. I would highly recommend Floating Harbour Studios.

  • Great service. These guys take the fuss out of hiring gear and are very easy to deal with and communicate with. Also great prices for rentals. Good one-stop shop for gear in the South West.

  • Their client service is great - they have been incredibly flexible in accommodating any last minute changes and the team has gone out of their way to work around any awkward dates or timings.

Terms and Conditions

Payment & Deposit

Floating Harbour Studios Ltd. invoices are due upon receipt and hires may not be permitted unless payment has been made. We require a copy of either a passport or valid driver’s license, as well as proof of address (customers that are not known to us may be asked to provide more than one proof of address and identity).

Insurance & Deposit

The customer is responsible for the safe-keeping of the equipment throughout the hire period and shall be liable for any loss of or damage to the equipment howsoever caused. If you do not have the relevant insurance for the hires, you are agreeing to take on full liability for any damage or loss of Floating Harbour Studios Ltd.’ equipment during the hire period. See Damage or Loss of Equipment section.

If you do not have relevant production insurance, we may not be able to fulfil your hire, depending on the value of the equipment. At our discretion on lower value items only, we may accept smaller hires without production insurance in which case a cash deposit is required, which will be refunded upon return of the equipment provided there are no faults or problems. The deposit amount will be confirmed upon hire enquiry.

In all instances, the hirer remains fully liable for the value of the equipment, regardless of any refusal of an insurance pay-out following loss or damage.

Equipment Inventory

All equipment is checked prior to hire for faults or damage. It is also the responsibility of the customer to check, upon receipt of the equipment, that it is in good working order and in an undamaged condition. Any faults or damage, outside of the initial inventory, must be reported within 2 hours of receiving the equipment. Floating Harbour Studios Ltd. will not be responsible for any defects or deficiencies in the equipment unless notification has been made within the 2 hours. Any damage or defects must be paid for by the customer. Please see Damage and Loss of Equipment section for further terms.

Upon termination of the hire, the customer will return the equipment to Floating Harbour Studios Ltd. in the same repair and condition as at the commencement of the hiring, with the exception of fair wear and tear given. Equipment should be packed so that it is returned as it was sent out. Please ensure you are familiar with packing configuration when using equipment. Failure to do so may result in charges or deposit being withheld.

It is expected that the customer fully understands and has given experience in using the equipment they are hiring.

It is not Floating Harbour Studios Ltd.’s responsibility to offer guidance and training on the equipment before or during the hire period, other than sharing best practice. Damage caused by customer’s negligence will also follow the below conditions.

Damage or Loss of Equipment

The customer shall be liable and therefore pay to the Company all costs for repairs to damaged equipment. The customer shall pay to Floating Harbour Studios Ltd. the full cost of replacing any lost equipment, or any equipment, which in the reasonable opinion of the Company is uneconomic to repair, with new equipment of the same or similar specification to that equipment which has been lost or damaged. The customer may also be liable for any loss of rental income resulting from such loss or damage or for the period it takes to effect repairs or replace equipment, at the discretion of Floating Harbour Studios Ltd..

The customer will notify Floating Harbour Studios Ltd. of any damage incurred either before or upon return of the equipment. Floating Harbour Studios Ltd. will invoice the necessary amount back to the customer, with appropriate evidencing of the costs incurred.

Collection & Delivery

Unless otherwise requested, the hirer collects and returns the hire goods from our premises. For certain items and given enough notice we may be able to organise delivery through a courier service.
