Purpose-led storytelling for causes that matter

Charity film production that moves people to act

Charity films have to do more than explain a cause: they have to make people feel its importance and understand what they can do next. Floating Harbour creates film and video for charities, foundations, social enterprises and not-for-profit organisations, working with communications, fundraising and campaign teams to find the human story within complex issues and turn attention into action.

Who we work with. The Whitley Fund for Nature (the Whitley Awards live stream every year since 2020), Gympanzees (campaign and appeal films), Laudes Foundation (report and launch films, a safeguarding animation), Wildscreen (hybrid festival production, including Communicating COP26), the Wild Place Project (the Bear Wood and Giraffe House appeals), the Independent Cinema Office (hybrid screening days), the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data (UN General Assembly films) and Climate KIC (programme and impact films).

  • From one film to a full campaign

From one film to a full campaign

From a single hero film to a campaign designed for social, web, email and events, we help charities create content that earns attention and gives it direction. We begin with the audience and the outcome: what they need to understand, feel and do. That focus keeps the work purposeful, while allowing room for the powerful moments that make a film memorable.

  • Fundraising and supporter films

Fundraising and supporter films

Fundraising asks people to care and to act, often in a matter of minutes. We make films that introduce the people behind a cause, show the difference a contribution can make and give supporters a compelling reason to get involved. Our work includes appeal films, donor stories, supporter journeys, launch films and content for use across digital campaigns and live events.

  • Stories told with care

Stories told with care

Many charities work with people who are sharing personal, difficult or sensitive experiences. Our team is experienced at creating a calm, respectful environment for contributors, safeguarding their dignity and ensuring that the production process feels collaborative from first conversation to final sign-off. We balance emotional impact with accuracy, consent and the responsibilities that come with telling real stories.

  • Events, awards and moments of connection

Events, awards and moments of connection

We also produce films and live content for awards, conferences, hybrid events and celebrations. From the Whitley Awards to charity campaigns and community projects, we help organisations capture the energy in the room and extend its reach far beyond the event itself, through highlight films, livestreams, speaker content and social edits.

  • One team from strategy to delivery

One team from strategy to delivery

We are a small, highly experienced team, which means the people who shape the idea are the people who bring it to life. We can work as an extension of your in-house team or lead the process end to end: developing the creative approach, planning the production, filming interviews and real-world stories, and delivering versions tailored for websites, social channels, presentations and broadcast.

Floating Harbour provides charity film production across Bristol, the UK and internationally. Our work spans campaigns, fundraising, animation, event coverage, livestreaming and social-first video, always with a focus on making your message matter to the people you need to reach.
